Laura Weiss is a graduate of Suffolk University Law School, where she spent all three years on the Deans List, participated in numerous mock trial competitions and received an Honorable mention for “Best Brief”. Throughout law school, Laura worked for both the State Attorney’s Office in Tampa, Florida and the Norfolk County District Attorney’s Office in Quincy, Massachusetts.
In 2004, Laura was admitted to practice law in New York and subsequently became a member of the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York. She pursued her passion for litigation and began her career litigating insurance cases. Laura then went on to work as in-house counsel for a “Fortune 100” Company, where she focused on no-fault litigation. After litigating hundreds of cases, she went on to work with the Special Investigations Unit of Travelers Insurance and the National Insurance Crime Bureau to investigate fraudulent no-fault schemes and pursue civil “RICO” matters, recovering millions of dollars paid to fraudulent medical providers and medical supply companies.
As far back at college, she loved solving mysteries and crimes – something her legal work now allows her to do professionally
After taking some time off to raise her children, Laura returned to work at Gottlieb Ostrager LLP, where she continues her career in No-fault litigation. She loves being outdoors hiking, swimming, and, especially, playing tennis.
